When my friends Fiona and David asked me if I would take some family photos of David’s family in their family korowai cloak to honour their Maori heritage, I was very honoured but honestly also quite a bit nervous. Not having grown up in New Zealand and therefore not being very familiar with the customs, I wasn’t sure what to expect.Â
But I couldn’t have asked for a more unique and stunning family session. We found the perfect little corner at the Michael Park School in Ellerslie that provided a gorgeous background of trees and ferns that worked so well with the cloak.
David and Fiona: Thanks for trusting me with you special project. I hope I have managed to capture some beautiful memories for your family.
